The Power of Light Without Light, there would be no colour Colour is the most powerful component of all visual imagery. The right colours communicate meaning and please the eye. The wrong colours can be unpleasant and even unsettling. As a marketing tool, colour can be a subliminally persuasive force. As a functional component of human vision, colour can capture attention, relax or irritate the eyes, and affect the legibility of text. All things considered, the right colours empower and contribute to the success of a product, a service or even an interior space. The wrong colours can be a costly mistake. Chromo therapy: Definition: Chromo therapy, sometimes called colour therapy, light therapy or colourology, is based on the premise that certain colours are infused with healing energies. The therapy uses the seven colours of the rainbow to promote balance and healing in the mind and body. Our chromo therapy lights cycle gently through the spectrum of colours in order to provide an all round therapeutic effect. Origins: Colour therapy is rooted in Ayurveda, an ancient form of medicine practiced in India for thousands of years. Ayurveda is based on the idea that every individual contains the five basic elements of the universe: earth, water, air, fire, and ether (space). These elements are present in specific proportions unique to an individual's personality and constitution. When these elements are thrown out of balance through unhealthy living habits or outside forces, illness results. Ayurvedic medicine uses the energies inherent in the colours of the spectrum to restore this balance. Colour therapy was also used in ancient Egypt and China. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), each organ is associated with a colour. In qigong, healing sounds are also associated with a colour, which in turn corresponds to a specific organ and emotion.
